assessing coaching effectivenessJust as the coach is ever seeking to help teachers reach their highest potential, so too he must reflect and assess his own attainment of the same goal. Coaching for transformation seeks to transform all participants of the process. In this section, tools developed by Elena Aguilar (2014) can be found to help with the self-reflective and assessment process.
Reflective prompts for coachesThe reflective process is important for a coach as often it is the coach's job to remain calm in tense situations and help guide. When we bring our own frustrations into a coaching situation that frustration can fill the room making growth for the client impossible. By practicing self-reflection, coaches can alleviate such frustrations. According to Elena Aguilar in The Art of Coaching, "Because of the impact we can have, coaches need time and structures for reflection in order to examine how we show up in our work and how we are received" (2013). The following resource is a good starting point for this process.
