Developing deep knowledge in students will enable them to escape from the curse of time spent in schools with little to no retention of information. Throughout our school life, the vast amount of information we have stuffed into our brains and then promptly forgot is astounding. In the educational schemes of today, learning needs to be less about random facts and more about identifying the causalities across time which have impacted the human race. Those conceptual facts can only be learned via the intentional work of the teacher to create meaning and enduring learning.
